Offset Read & Publish agreement

Contents:

Subscription with access to the publisher's full catalogue "ALL PUBS", including offset content or an OA publishing option for University faculty with a CC-BY publication license.

OA publications management:

Availability of an increasing number of tokens over the 4-year period. Corresponding authors affiliated may choose to publish their work Open Access and they must use their institutional address and email address when the work is accepted, in order to be identified as a University author on the Copyright Clearance Center (CCC) dedicated platform "Rightslink for Scientific Communications", integrated with the ACS website. The agreement allows for OA publishing with author's copyright.

Annual Membership

Contents: access to all BioMed Central and Springer Open gold OA journals covering a wide range of topics: science and technology, medicine, engineering, chemistry and mathematics.

Gold Open Access with discounts: 15% discount on Gold OA publishing fees for each BioMed Central or Springer Open journal, under the University's Digital Library annual membership. There are no additional costs for colour tables and images.

How to get the discount
If you send the article from a University IP, the discount will be applied automatically.
If you send the article from an external IP, select the option I believe that I am covered by an institutional membership arrangement on the 'APC arrangement' page and then select the name of our university, Università degli Studi di Milano, from the drop-down menu.

After the end of the procedure, the Approval Manager of the Author Service verifies and validates the affiliation and corresponding author will receive a confirmation email.

Transformative Agreement Cambridge University Press 2023 CARE-CRUI

Read & Publish agreement

Contents: subscription with access to the full catalogue of journals and the option for University authors to publish scientific articles with the CC-BY Open Access license in hybrid journals. The articles set out in the agreement for OA publication are original papers, review papers and case reports.

It is also possible to publish in 109 Gold Open Access (OA) journals with a 20% discount on the APC price list for payments made after publication, or 25% on a pre-payment basis, and a deposit account of € 5,000. Check the "APC fee" column for list prices, ranging from € 500 to € 2,250.

Management of OA publications: availability of an increasing number of tokens over the 3-year period. Corresponding authors affiliated may choose to publish their work Open Access and they must use their institutional address and email address during the submission process, in order to be identified as a University author. The agreement allows for OA publishing with author's copyright.

Freedom Collection and OA option
Access to the Freedom Collection journals and option of OA publishing for University corresponding authors in hybrid journals available on Sciencedirect platform. Number of OA vouchers will be unlimited starting 1 January 2025.

Eligible articles:

c) Case Report

Starting 1 January 2025, voucher will be unlimited and also Short Communication will be eligible

Articles will be published under a Creative Commons CC-BY license, or a CC-BY-NC license. Under this publishing model corresponding author maintains copyright.

During the term of the contract, titles which may change from hybrid to GOLD OA remain eligible.

Cell Press collection
Access to the subscribed ejournals and option of OA publishing for University corresponding authors in the same hybrid journals available on Sciencedirect platform under license CC-BY e CC-BY-ND.

Gold Open Access
Option of OA publishing for University corresponding authors in the 605 gold open access journals available on Sciencedirect platform under license CC-BY or CC-BY-ND.

Green Open Access

After acceptance of the publication, authors can self-archive their articles on their personal website and into AIR with an embargo period of 12 months, even for the journals with longer than 12 months embargo
These guidelines do not apply to articles published in Open Choice Journals with an Open Access license. They are immediately available Open Access.

OA publications management

After peer-review process and publishing acceptance of the article, corresponding author will be intitled to select the University as his/her institution of affiliation before taking the Open Access option. Finally affiliation will be validated by the Appoval Manager of the Digital Library Office.

Please check the journals' editorial policy for any additional costs foreseen for services that are not included in the cost of the open access APC (e.g. submission fees, color images and/or extra pages). These costs are not included in the contract as they are due regardless of the articles' publishing version, be it OA or closed.

Some journals require a submission fee that is not covered by the contract. Regarding this, on the publisher's website (under the heading Submission fees. Elsevier), it is stated as follow:

''Along with many other journals in the wider community, around 45 of the economics, finance, and accounting journals published by Elsevier levy submission fees. If a journal charges submission fees, this is clearly flagged in the journal's guide for authors and during the submission process.
We encourage authors to pay attention during the submission process.''

Transformative Agreement IOP 2022 - 2025 CARE-CRUI

Contents: access to IOP SCIENCE and corresponding authors affiliated to Università degli Studi di Milano may publish unlimited articles in open access in IOP hybrid or fully open access (gold) journals at no cost

Green Open Access: University authors can self-archive their papers in the version accepted for publication on their website or into the Institutional repository (12 months embargo).

OA publications management: corresponding authors may choose to publish their works in open access and they must use their institutional email address @unimi.it during the submission process.

Eligible Authors will be identified through at least one of the following parameters: institution name / affiliation or e-mail domain @unimi.it. The agreement allows for OA publishing with author's copyright and license CC-BY 4.0.
Final versions of accepted articles (Version of Record) will be published online without delay and in the first instance open access. The accepted articles published in the Publisher’s Journals will be hosted by the Publisher in the same manner as the Subscribed Products licensed under this contract in the IOPscience platform.

Article types eligible under this agreement are paper, special issue paper, review and/or letter (intended to cover all original research and review type content).

Affiliations will be finally approved by the Approval Manager of Università degli Studi di Milano.

Read & Publish agreement

Contents: subscription with access to 97 biomedical journals and the option for University authors to publish scientific articles with an Open Access license in 180 hybrid journals and with a CC BY- NC-ND 4.0 license in 2 hybrid journals as set out in the attached list. The articles set out in the agreement for OA publication are original papers and review papers.

Green Open Access: you can deposit the final manuscript subject to peer review or the post-print (i.e. the final version of the paper before it is sent off to the journal for publication) into the institutional research repository (AIR), after 12 months from the publication of the final article in the publisher's journals.

Management of OA publications: corresponding authors affiliated may choose to publish their work Open Access and they must use their institutional address and email address during the submission process, in order to be identified as a University author, on the Copyright Clearance Center (CCC) dedicated platform "Rightslink for Scientific Communications" made available by the publisher. The Digital Library has joined MDPI's  Institutional Open Access Program (IOAP). The programme allows University authors to publish their papers in MDPI's Gold Open Access journals with a 10% discount on APCs. Please always use your institutional email account for submissions, in order to be recognized as a University author.

The discount also extends to the publication of OA academic books.

The invoicing of articles covered by the University APC fund is managed centrally through the email account  APC.bibliotecadigitale@unimi.it

Read & Publish agreement

Contents

The agreement includes a subscription to e-journals and the option of OA publishing for University authors in hybrid journals (Open Choice Standard Journals) available on the SpringerLink platform. The number of OA publications covered by the agreement has been increasing over the five-year contractual period.
Since 2023, journals that switch from hybrid model to gold OA model, continue to remain elegible for the OA publication.

Green Open Access

Upon acceptance of the publication, authors can self-archive their AAM on their personal website and into AIR with an embargo period of 12 months, with the following mention: 'Version following the peer review process, pending the review of the article as published in [enter journal title]. The authenticated final version is available online at: http://dx.doi.org/ [enter DOI]

These guidelines do not apply to articles published in Open Choice Journals with an Open Access license. They are immediately available Open Access.

OA publications management

University corresponding authors can publish their papers Open Access provided they are original papers and review papers, as required by the agreement.

Original paper – a standard article, usually presenting new findings; it may also be referred to as original research, original article or research paper.

Review paper – a standard article with an interpretation of previously published findings.

The papers are mostly published with a Creative Commons CC-BY license, or a CC-BY-NC license for a small number of journals (link to the list). Under this publishing model the author maintains copyright. 

Upon completion of the peer-review process and acceptance of the article by the journal, corresponding author will select the University as his/her institution of affiliation before taking the Open Access option. Please find the Author Journey
Upon completion of this process, the affiliation will be validated by the Digital Library Office.

The agreement with the publisher allows University authors to publish in the gold Open Access journal "European Review for Medical and Pharmacological Sciences" with a 15% discount on the final APC.

The Publishing Manager system requires the University corresponding author to submit the paper from his/her institutional e-mail (@unimi) by checking the 'UNIMI' box in the 'Special Issue' item.

2020-2023 Wiley Online Library Agreement and OA Rights, signed through CRUI-CARE

Contents: Subscription with access to the publisher's catalogue Database Model with the option of Open Access publishing for University faculty with a CC-BY license in the publisher's Open Hybrid journals.
It is specified that during the term of the contract, the journals that switch from the hybrid model to the gold model, will not exit from the contract but will continue to remain the object of the contract.
